‘Get Online Week’ the BBC need your help!

‘Get Online Week’ the BBC need your help!

The BBC is co-ordinating ‘Get Online Week’ between the 18th-22nd October 2010. 10 million people in the UK have never used the internet before, which is more than a fifth of the population.

‘Get Online Week’ will see over 3,000 events taking place around the country which will be encouraging and supporting people to get online.

The BBC are looking for individuals who are about to embark on their digital journey and use the internet for the first time.

They’re looking for people for whom using the internet is a huge challenge but who have decided to give it a go. They’re keen to understand what their barriers have been up until now and what their motivation is to give it a go in August/September 2010.

They’re looking for people from all walks of life, from all around the country and from all age-groups.

They’re looking for likeable, chatty individuals who can express what their anxieties or concerns are and why it’s important to them to have a go now.

They’re operating to a tight deadline, so are keen to speak to people ASAP and start filming anytime from now until the end of September.

Please call them on 0208 008 1105 or you can ask someone to contact them on your behalf on rakhee.hindocha@bbc.co.uk or claire.dunn1@bbc.co.uk or call them on if you can put forward any potential first-time users.
